Similar species:
  •   Common Cattail (Typha latifolia) - Leaves are very similar, but lacks the showy yellow flowers.

  •   Narrow-leaved Cattail (Typha angustifolia) - Leaves much narrower, and lacks the showy yellow flowers.

  •   Blue Flag Iris (Iris versicolor) - Much smaller plant, has blue flowers.

Flowers: Summer;  Yellow;  3 parts (petals)

Leaves: Simple, Entire

Habitat: Wet Areas
