Family: Bunch flower Family (Melanthiaceae), (Lily Family (Liliaceae), Trillium Family (Trilliaceae))

Group: Trilliums

Distinctive features: A single flower droops down below the leaves - "nods".

Similar species:
  •   White Trillium (Trillium grandiflorum) - White flower in held above the leaves. Much more common.

  •   Painted Trillium (Trillium undulatum) - Center of flower is "painted" pink.


Flowers: Spring;  White;  3 parts (petals)

Leaves: Opposite/Whorled, Entire

Height: 15-25 cm (6-10 in)

Habitat: Forests

Lifespan: Perennial.
